FLY IN CHATS

Romance at The Manor at Ngorongoro

GMs Leche and Altus tel us about why the property is such a haven for couples.

Why is the Manor such a popular property for couples

Because of its unique hidden location, the nostalgic romantic French Dutch look and feel, the romantic backdrop of the Ngorongoro Crater and the personalised, specialised service that we offer which leaves a lasting memory with our guests.

What special activities are available to honeymooning couples

Couples massage and private romantic candle lit dinner next to a warm fire together with our beautiful private lunches in our garden, horse rides through the coffee plantation, the best wine that Tanzania has to offer and lovely alone time away from the everyday safari activities.

Where are the most romantic locations for a private dinner or a sundowner

For a sundowner, it must be watching the sunset over the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. We have numerous surprises up our sleeves at The Manor at Ngorongoro for private dinners and we like to keep our “romantic getaway” secrets a secret. I can tell you that we do beautiful private dinners at many different spots, and it is always number one as our guests’ most memorable experience.

Have there been many proposals you can recall with guests staying at the Manor

Yes, we have had a couple of proposals here, one particularly memorable one that I can recall is where the lovely couple went on a horseback ride to a beautiful picnic lunch spot in the coffee fields overlooking the Crater where the gentleman proposed. On their return, we had a beautiful romantic dinner waiting for them.

Which rooms do you recommend for honeymooning couples

Rooms 7, 15 and 18, have particularly beautiful views and are private and magical.

Are you able to arrange weddings at the Manor and if so, can you tell us a bit about them

We can definitely arrange weddings, as this is a beautiful destination wedding lodge. There are many options for couples who want to get married here. We can for example do the wedding lunch within our vegetable garden or coffee plantation. This is a lovely farm to table experience. We can also add the Maasai culture to the wedding activities and have Maasai dancers as well. The possibilities are endless.
What added extras can SkySafari guests expect whilst staying at the Manor

We do a specialised check in for our SkySafari guests, with a lovely canape and welcome drink upon arrival. They also get massages and horseback rides included in their SkySafari package.
