Kenya Wildlife Service proposes new entrance fees for 2024 & 2025

Kenya Wildlife Service has proposed new amended entrance fees for parks, reserves, and conservancies from January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2025. This includes Masai Mara National Reserve and all KWS parks, reserves, sanctuaries, and marine reserves. The entrance fees provide funds which are critical in supporting the conservation and protection of wildlife, as well as helping communities, supporting park operations and upkeep, and helping with infrastructural developments. They also sustain staff members who remain committed to protecting these beautiful environments and the wildlife that make their home here, ensuring a positive impact that will last for future generations.

We wanted to share notice prior to the changes, and we will make sure to inform affected bookings as soon as we have more knowledge of the impact.

Why Fly Sky

SkySafari guests spend less time traveling and enjoy more time on game drives

SkySafari wants every guest to get the most out of their epic safari adventure and our itineraries have been planned to ensure guests spend less time traveling and more time on game drives. By saving around 16 hours on travel thanks to our direct private flights, guests enjoy a seamless VIP fast-track airport experience which makes transfers through airports and travel between safari camps more efficient, and more private with less interaction with the crowds. Additionally, direct private flights onboard our executive style Cessna Caravan, with no flight stop offs or detours en route to your bush destination, you’ll be able to get the very most out of your safari. Our one single check-in throughout the entire trip also allows guests to avoid added waiting, making the transition between camps seamless and efficient.

Itineraries offer the very best accommodations in the most iconic locations

Travel in luxury and sleep in style on every SkySafari itinerary, thanks to the very best accommodation offered in the most sublime locations. Whether on our 8-day or 10-day itineraries in Kenya and Tanzania, or our 13-day East Africa adventure, each itinerary features the perfect combination of Elewana Collection’s gorgeous luxury camps, opulent manors, and exquisite high-end boutique lodges. Each intimate retreat has its own character and style, but they all share the same ethos: exceptional personalised service, endless attention to detail, luxury with a light environmental touch and some of the best food you’ll eat in East Africa.

On our 8-day and 10-day journeys through Northern Tanzania, travellers will experience some of the most iconic safari locations. The trip begins with an overnight at Arusha Coffee Lodge, offering spacious accommodations which are nestled in one of Tanzania’s largest working coffee plantations in the shadows of the volcanic Mount Meru, and then follows on to Tarangire National Park, and the adjacent Randilen WMA where bush luxury reaches new heights at Tarangire Treetops with treehouses perched high on the baobab and merula trees, offering spectacular views of the bush below. Travellers then head to The Manor, nestled in a highland coffee estate on the verdant slopes south of the Ngorongoro Crater, which blends East African hospitality with old world Afro-European architecture and décor. The trip makes its grand finale at either Serengeti Pioneer camp, located in the southern Serengeti, which pays homage to the mobile camps of the 1920’s, or Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp, situated off the beaten track, where guests can observe unperturbed wildlife movements from the verandas of their stilted tented suites.

Our 8-day and 10-day adventures in Kenya are no different, combining the most elegant boutique camps and lodges with unparalleled settings in the heart of prime wildlife areas. Begin your 8-day Journey at Elsa’s Camp Meru, land of Elsa the lion, famed character depicted in the historical wildlife books Born Free and its sequence. Our 10-day SkySafari takes you where every day you can take in the breath-taking views across to Kilimanjaro and spot elephants and antelope at the watering hole amidst the backdrop of Amboseli National Park. Following these two contrasting bush destinations, you will continue along to Loisaba Tented Camp, located in the vast but private Loisaba Conservancy, where views of Mt Kenya in the distance and adventurous excursions can be had via jeep, horse, camel and even on foot. The award-winning bygone-style tent accommodations of Sand River Masai Mara bring a dash of 1920s glamour to the savannah and guests can enjoy life on the banks of its namesake river, where elephants, big cats and even the annual migration make their journey.

Our 13-day East Africa adventure combines the very best of the best. From Tortilis Camp in Amboseli National Park, where parades of elephants’ roam, to community-based conservation at Loisaba Tented camp in Loisaba Conservancy, to wildlife rich game drives in the iconic Masai Mara and Serengeti, and finally, a magnificent finish at Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO world heritage site and the “eighth wonder of the world.” This extended safari adventure promises a taste of everything – the big five, out of this world drama and everlasting memories.

Bookend your safari adventure with fantastic add-ons

To make your fun-filled safari adventure even more memorable, SkySafari offers the option of bookending your safari with fantastic add-ons in the cities of Nairobi or Arusha, or a beautiful beach escape at the dreamy Kilindi Zanzibar.

Those booking additional nights in Nairobi can enjoy a stay at Hemingways Nairobi and tour the vibrant city, while also organizing visits to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, the elephant sanctuary for orphaned baby elephants and the Giraffe Visitor Centre, where guests can get up close and friendly with the graceful, long-necked creatures.

Arusha Coffee Lodge is the destination of choice for those choosing to explore the city after their Tanzanian safari adventure. The property offers fantastic culinary experiences and a tour and visit to Shanga, a social enterprise workshop and boutique shop, located on the premises. Shanga employs local residents who have disabilities and teaches them to create beautiful items including hand blown glassware, textiles, place settings and other decorative homeware and clothing items, as well as handmade jewellery, and more. City Tours can be arranged for those looking to delve in this small but bustling city, steeped in Safari tradition, or spend a day in the cool highlands of Arusha National Park with a picnic launch on the edges of its volcanic lakes.

For the ultimate indulgence after being in the bush, head to Kilindi Zanzibar on the Zanzibar coast. Here rest and relaxation are the main focus, as guests unwind in their lavish, white-domed Pavilion guest rooms with private pools, set amongst 50 acres of lush tropical garden. Take advantage of spa treatments at the peaceful Kilindi spa, laze the day away on the tranquil, soft sandy beach adjacent to the property or take a dip in the Indian Ocean. Fantastic culinary options, no mealtimes, and the option to dine anywhere within the property, whether in the common dining areas, on the beach or in the privacy of one’s own pavilion, ensure the ultimate luxury. Experiences such as a tour of Stone Town, private sunset dhow cruise, island spice tour, safari blue dolphin and snorkelling tour, deep sea fishing, and a variety of water activities are also available to guests during their stay.

Above & Beyond Reviews

Don’t just take our word for it…

SkySafari has had the pleasure of hosting some of the world’s most discerning travel journalists reporting for some of the most prestigious and well-respected media titles. Here are a few of their remarks on the SkySafari experience:

SkySafari is designed specifically to make it simple for you to book and enjoy an African safari holiday to Kenya and Tanzania, leaving you with time to relax and watch the never-ending circle of life unwind against the backdrop of East Africa’s iconic parks and timeless landscapes.

Successfully pioneered in Tanzania by the Elewana Collection of boutique safari camps and lodges, the Kenya SkySafari offers a seven-night fly-around to three of the country’s most captivating national parks and game reserves. Departures are guaranteed even if there are only two clients, and in my view, it particularly suits first-time safari-goers, honeymooners, the time-strapped, last-minute escapists, and anyone plotting a celebration or multi-generation treat (children of all ages are welcome).
~Nigel Tisdall for the Telegraph

As an avid safari goer, I know what it’s like to be both exhilarated by the adventure of experiencing different national parks and types of wildlife, and exhausted by the travel involved with visiting multiple camps. So, it was a pleasure, then, after a recent week of camp-hopping in Tanzania, to feel well-rested and like I maximized my time. And it was all thanks to SkySafari.
~ Judy Koutsky for Robb Report

Elewana’s SkySafari Kenya is a totally brilliant concept. Provided there are two or more of you, you have guaranteed seats on a private Cessna Caravan plane which will transport you in comfort to some of the finest national parks and wildlife reserves that Kenya has to offer. SkySafari Kenya bypasses most of the normal difficulties and inconveniences of travel, allowing you to experience the magnificent variety of Kenya’s wild- life in an intense, yet totally non-stressful, way.
